With over 36,000 students benefiting from a Plymouth education, 3,000 staff and an annual income of over GBP 250m, the University of Plymouth is the first modern university in the country to have opened its own medical school and is ranked in the UK's top 50 universities for 'research power'. With a truly global outlook and a unique partnership approach to its students, staff and partners, it seeks to advance knowledge and transform lives, through excellence in teaching and learning, world-class research, sustained international impact, and a stimulating student experience.
As part of the University's continuing transformation, it is now seeking to appoint an exceptional Academic Registrar to join its innovative and collegial senior leadership community. A newly created role, the Academic Registrar will be responsible for the effective leadership and delivery of a broad range of student and academic services. Reporting to the Registrar and Secretary, and a key member of the Professional Services Management Board, s/he will play a lead role in the development and implementation of the integrated Professional Services strategy; simultaneously driving the enabling functions which underpin the University's wider ambitions.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a resilient, innovative and entrepreneurial individual to develop and transform the future direction of the Academic Registry. The successful candidate will have sustained senior management experience in Higher Education, and a track record of academic and student facing service delivery. They will be able to effectively apply their knowledge and strategic insights of higher education policy, and its evolving regulatory frameworks, to bring genuine best practice to Plymouth during a period of unprecedented change for the sector.
